Two Minutes

My 6 year old nephew took this picture of me today. We were out in the backyard taking pictures of things and talking.

I think it's a pretty decent portrait.

Peace.

This got me thinking. It could be a fun experiment to have a child take your picture everyday. In some ways those might be the most honest photos, no? At least the least manipulated by the photographer, right? I just handed him the camera on aperture priority and told him what button to push to take a picture. Then he went around taking pictures of plants and whatever else he felt like. He also took 7 identical photos of a house.

Anyway, today he was my photo buddy. When I asked him later to hold up a reflector he cooperated for about 2 minutes. Thinking about it now, maybe 2 minutes is all anyone needs to take a portrait.
